The company develops cell-based pork and beef products using its proprietary Opti-Ox technology, which enables rapid production of cultivated meat in as little as four days - significantly faster than traditional cell agriculture approaches.
The company has raised approximately $95 million in total funding, including a $35 million Series B round in 2023 led by Agronomics, with participation from Invest-NL. In 2024, Meatable secured additional strategic investment from Betagro Ventures (Thailand's major food group) and a EUR 7.6 million Innovation Credit from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency to accelerate production scaling.
Meatable's technology differentiates it from competitors through its use of induced pluripotent stem cells, which can be derived from a single cell sample without harming animals and can replicate indefinitely. This approach addresses key challenges in the cultivated meat industry around cell sourcing and production efficiency.
The company is focused on regulatory approval in Singapore, which has been the global leader in approving cultivated meat products. Meatable held its first public tasting of cultivated pork sausages in Singapore in 2023 and has been working toward full commercial approval. In late 2024, the company brought in industry veteran Jeff Tripician as CEO, signaling a focus on commercialization and market entry.
