Policygenius is America's leading digital insurance marketplace, transforming how consumers research, compare, and purchase insurance. Founded in 2014 by Jennifer Fitzgerald and Francois de Lame, former McKinsey consultants, the company created a one-stop platform where consumers can compare options from top insurance carriers, receive unbiased expert advice from salaried advisors, and manage their entire insurance portfolio digitally. The company's mission is to help people get financial protection right and feel good about it.

Since its founding, Policygenius has served over 30 million people and placed more than $200 billion in coverage across life, home, auto, disability, renters, and other insurance types. The platform partners with major carriers including Brighthouse Financial, Prudential, Transamerica, Pacific Life, and Lincoln Financial, offering consumers transparent comparisons without bias toward any particular insurer. Unlike traditional insurance agents who work on commission, Policygenius advisors are salaried employees focused on finding the best fit for each customer.

In April 2023, Policygenius was acquired by Zinnia, a life and annuity insurance technology company, in a strategic move to create front-to-back architecture for the insurance value chain. The acquisition brought together Policygenius's customer-facing marketplace with Zinnia's insurance technology infrastructure, welcoming approximately 450 Policygenius team members to Zinnia. Co-founders Jennifer Fitzgerald and Francois de Lame stepped down in November 2023, marking the end of an era for the pioneering insurtech. Today, Policygenius continues to operate as a leading insurance marketplace under Zinnia's ownership, expanding its B2B partnerships through Policygenius Pro while maintaining its consumer-focused mission.
