Astrix Security is pioneering the emerging category of non-human identity (NHI) security, protecting enterprises from supply chain attacks and data breaches caused by excessive, unnecessary, and harmful access granted to APIs, OAuth tokens, service accounts, and AI agents. Founded in 2021 by CEO Alon Jackson and CTO Idan Gour—both veterans of the Israel Defense Force 8200 military intelligence unit—the company has rapidly established itself as the leading platform for managing the lifecycle of non-human identities that now outnumber human users in most organizations.

The founding team's military intelligence background provided deep expertise in cybersecurity research and threat detection. Jackson previously served for more than eight years as a major in the Israeli 8200 unit, leading cloud initiatives and managing over 100 people as head of cybersecurity research. After leaving 8200, both co-founders gained private sector experience—Jackson worked at Argus (automotive security) from 2018 to 2021—before spending several months on startup ideation. They identified a critical gap in the security market: while many tools existed for managing human user access, no comprehensive solution addressed the security risks posed by machine-to-machine connections, API tokens, and automated processes.

In December 2024, Astrix raised $45 million in Series B funding led by Menlo Ventures through their Anthology Fund (a $100M strategic partnership with Anthropic), alongside Workday Ventures and previous investors BVP, CRV, and F2. This brought total funding to $85 million and validated the explosive growth the company has experienced: 5X revenue growth since its Series A just 18 months earlier, tripling team size to 80 employees, and securing marquee customers including Workday, NetApp, Priceline, Figma, and HubSpot. The company maintains 5X annual revenue growth and has been recognized as a SINET16 Innovator 2024, a Gartner Cool Vendor in Identity-First Security, and an RSA Innovation Sandbox finalist.

Astrix's cloud-based platform provides holistic visibility into all non-human identities across SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS environments, automatically detecting and remediating over-privileged, unnecessary, and malicious access. As organizations increasingly deploy AI agents and automate business processes, the number of non-human identities requiring security management has exploded. With the Series B funding, Astrix is expanding beyond NHI protection into correlating human and non-human identity data, addressing the complete identity security landscape for the AI era.
